About Us

McLamore Investments is a real estate investment firm founded by James and Sterling McLamore. Our focus is on acquiring and managing single and multi-family assets. We specialize in acquiring distressed real estate. Our construction expertise allows us to accurately budget and renovate these properties to achieve their maximum value. We primarily focus on investing in projects we plan to hold for the long term. However, we do buy, renovate, and sell properties in the later stages of real estate cycles as cap rates compress.  McLamore Investments oversees the management of our properties as well as partnership owned assets. We do not manage for 3rd parties keeping us focused on maximizing returns for stakeholders. James and Sterling are 8th generation Floridians and grew up in South Tampa. Both brothers graduated from Southern Methodist University with degrees from Cox School of Business.

James grew up in Tampa, FL and received his Bachelor's in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University focusing on Real Estate Finance.  After SMU James joined Prudential Mortgage Capital in Atlanta, GA until 2011.  While there he worked in several different capacities including underwriting, origination of loans across all property types, portfolio management for the General Account, and asset manager of distressed assets. Since leaving Prudential, James has worked with his brother in expanding their real estate holdings across Tampa and increased the total assets from approximately $900k to $8 million.  He is an avid outdoorsman and particularly enjoys golfing and boating. He is member of Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, and a past president of The Merrymakers Club of Tampa. He currently serves as a Director of the McLamore Family Foundation.

Sterling Whitman McLamore Jr. graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in business management from the Cox School of Business. Sterling began investing in real estate after the housing crash of 2008. He was mentored by his father-in-law, Vincent Palori, who is a successful multi-family and comercial real estate investor in Tampa. Sterling started from the ground up doing all of the acquisitions and remodels himself. He has overseen more than 100 home renovations in addition to complex apartment building infrastructure and cosmetic repairs. Sterling's experience enables him to identify and renovate assets to achieve maximum profitability. Sterling enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle with his wife, Melissa, and their two children. He is a member of the Tampa Yacht Club, Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, and The Merrymakers Club of Tampa. Sterling serves as Treasurer of the McLamore Family Foundation.
